First of all, Twaimz’s real name is Issa Christopher Tweimeh. He was born on May 13, 1995 and his birthplace was in California. Issa is of Arab descent and was raised with her older sister Nour in San Francisco.
Stories about Twaimz often relate that he was in high school because of his weight and that caused him to make YouTube his only friend. He spent most of his time watching videos on the site before deciding to create his own channel and upload his own videos. While not untrue, it’s not totally a factual or rather complete story.
Issa’s vlogging efforts didn’t start on YouTube, we traced it to the vine. It was on the platform that he gained his first followers. He only moved to YouTube so he could make longer videos. As far as we know, before he joined YouTube and started his Issa Twaimz channel on August 6, 2013, Twaimz made and shared videos of his daily life, comedy sketches, and lip-syncing Vine.
On the six-second video hosting platform, he amassed over 3 million followers. A good number of these guys followed Twaimz on YouTube where he shared longer versions of the kinds of videos he shared on Vine. It was only a matter of time before he amassed a million subscribers on the channel. At the time of this report, he could boast of having nearly 3.4 million subscribers and over 261 million views.
Is Twaimz gay?
The YouTube star addressed this question way back in 2014. He shared a video in which he said he was never in a hurry to tell people his name was Issa when he was much younger because he was afraid they would notice that the name is feminine and would call him gay.
He then talked about his judgment and being called things like “gay” and “queer”. That said, he claimed that having a physical attraction to someone was love and then concluded that it was stupid to keep trying to offend her by saying he loved someone (of her gender).
Although there was a time he talked about having a girlfriend, the video he made on the gay issue was widely welcomed as confirmation of his homosexuality. That’s true, regardless of the fact that he never specified his sexual preferences. All in all, Twaimz feels that it doesn’t matter whether he’s gay, straight, or bisexual.
What happened to him?
The answer to the question is no exaggeration. According to the YouTube star, it was his rise to fame that inspired him to quit YouTube and ditch the internet. He explained that the fame he enjoyed was linked to a feeling of panic that systematically prevented him from regaining his integrity. As this began to affect his self-confidence, making him feel uneasy, he had no choice but to give it all up.
